Exec Board
The SASgov Executive Board meets every other Tuesday, on weeks opposite General Body meetings.
For the 2009-10 school year, the SASgov Executive Board is composed of:
Deirdre Kelly Loughridge, President
As President, I lead the General Body and Executive Board of SASgov. I also serve as the primary SASgov representative to all School of Arts and Sciences and College of General Studies administration and personnel.
Bryan Chen, Vice President for Finance
As Vice President for Finance, I am responsible for managing the SASgov budget and maintaining current and accurate financial reports and records. I also chair the Finance Committee, whose activities include reviewing funding requests and documenting SASgov-sponsored social events.
Arthur Jones, Vice President for Policy
As Vice President for Policy, I chair the Administration and Policy Committee and am chiefly responsible for making sure that policies (university-wide or federal) are as advantageous as possible to graduate students in the School of Arts and Sciences.
Raleigh Martin, Vice President for Public Affairs
As Vice President for Public Affairs, I publicize SASgov events and their advocacy efforts. I chair the Public Affairs committee, which aids me in flyer creation and brainstorming publicity ideas.
Suzanne Bratt, Vice President for Communications
As Vice President for Communications, I send out the e-mails to SAS graduate students to inform them what is going on! During SASgov general body meetings, I also take the minutes. I am the one to contact if you want to know what is going on around campus.
Claudia Scala, Vice President for Social
The Vice President for Social is responsible for planning the happy hours, picnics, barbecues, and Phillies’ games that are designed to bring SAS graduate students together.
